Non-Incisional Ptosis Correction in Korea: My Honest Review at 1mm Plastic Surgery with Dr. Do Eon-rok
A Q&A review of non-incisional ptosis correction with non-incisional double eyelid surgery at 1mm Plastic Surgery in Seoul.

Hi everyone. Today I want to share my own eye surgery story. Sleepy-looking eyes were a long-time insecurity of mine, and I finally had non-incisional ptosis correction together with non-incisional double eyelid surgery at 1mm Plastic Surgery in Seoul, performed by Dr. Do Eon-rok. I've organized it as Q&A, covering the questions I think you'll be most curious about.
Q1. There are so many eye surgery clinics in Gangnam. Why 1mm Plastic Surgery?
Honestly, I agonized over this for a long time. Price was a concern too. When you start researching clinics, you find everything from budget clinics (factory clinics) that handle a high volume of patients to more expensive clinics known for their results. I was actually working at 1mm Plastic Surgery at the time, but I still researched other clinics before making my decision. I think most people would do the same! (laughs)
You can probably imagine how much pressure it is for an employee to get surgery at their own workplace. But I had seen so many of the director's surgical cases up close, and I thought: if I'm going to do this anyway, I'll trust the skill I've seen with my own eyes.
Q2. What bothered you about your eyes, and what did you want?
My problem was sleepy eyes. Of course my eyes look bigger when I open them wide, but that's true for everyone. The issue was that when my face was relaxed, my eyes looked half-closed.
I also considered a brow lift, but after discussing my options, I decided to explore non-incisional ptosis correction instead. In the end, I chose non-incisional ptosis correction, which strengthens the eye-opening muscle, combined with a non-incisional double eyelid surgery.
Q3. What do you remember most from your consultation with Dr. Do Eon-rok?
Dr. Do is known for being very straightforward and firm in his opinions. If you've heard what people say about him, you probably know what I mean. (laughs) But I had seen his skill firsthand, so I went in with trust.
I wanted a glamorous, feminine "out-line" (parallel) double eyelid. But he strongly disagreed, saying it wouldn't suit my face. After thinking it over, I followed his advice, and looking back, I'm so glad I listened.
Q4. How were the swelling, bruising and recovery after non-incisional ptosis correction?
The swelling and bruising were milder than I expected, and they improved noticeably day by day. Of all the surgeries I've had, this was the easiest recovery. Of course, recovery differs from person to person, so please take this as a reference only.
Q5. Are you happy with the result now?
Very, very happy. The people who tried to talk me out of surgery now all say it was the right choice. Even friends who said my monolids were my charm now say the surgery turned out great, and that says it all. I still jokingly call Dr. Do "Dad." (laughs)
Q6. What has changed since your eye surgery?
I hear all the time that my whole impression has changed. I've had rhinoplasty too, but honestly, the reactions after my eye surgery at 1mm Plastic Surgery have been far more satisfying.
If you're considering plastic surgery, my advice is to take your time researching your options and choose a qualified surgeon whose approach aligns with your goals. Some people undergo revision rhinoplasty, and revision eyelid surgery is also possible. Personally, though, I'm so happy with my results that I have no plans to have my eyelids operated on again. Why? Because I'm that satisfied.
My review may help you if
- People often tell you that you look sleepy because your eyes droop when relaxed
- You're unsure whether a brow lift or non-incisional ptosis correction may be more appropriate for your concerns
- You want natural eyes that suit your face rather than a dramatic line
- You're hesitating because you want to keep the charm of your monolids
A small tip for your consultation
It's good to bring photos of the eyes you want. But make sure to ask the doctor whether that look actually suits your face. If I had insisted on the line I originally wanted, I don't think I'd be this happy now. Eye surgery isn't just about the eyes; it's about the harmony of your whole face.
If sleepy-looking eyes are your concern, non-incisional ptosis correction is worth discussing in a consultation. I hope my review helps anyone with the same worries.
